Happy Friday, readers & planner babes! In today's blog post, we're walking you through how mambi Design Team member Casie Gutierrez prepares and fills a weekly spread in her Happy Planner™. She explains how she goes from blank pages to decorated pages before the pen, to then a filled out, finished written in and highlighted week.
About the process of filling her pages, Casie writes:
"First things first: I take the week's pages off of the discs (here's how) and lay out all my supplies. I develop a color scheme and putt together a 'kit' for myself to work with. I usually start with my current favorite washi tape and go from there.
I build the decorative foundation with washi strips over the morning, afternoon, evening sections. The thinnest washi fits perfect along those section dividers and adds a fun color element. Then, I like to find one or two of the larger inspirational stickers to serve as my mantra for the week.
Next, I write in the boxes and fill out everyone's schedule. I check in with my husband, my son's school calendar and sports schedules, and add in all the planned events. I plan out meals for the week and write those in as well. By doing this ahead of time, I spend less money and time at the grocery store and avoid the last minute rush to throw something together to feed everyone. I write all my plans in black pen and have been color coding certain events by underlining them with the new Happy Planner™ highlighters. That way, items stand out at first glance. I complete all of this the weekend before the week starts.
During the week, I add lists here and there as needed. I use the notepad insert for longer lists and add shorter lists right onto the date they need to happen. The self-inking checklist stamp is perfect for creating a quick check list format. I also created a bullet journal like way of documenting moments within my planner. I carry the small stamps in my accessory bag and add them in when needed. It is fun to add a high and low point of a random day from one person in the family's view point. Looking back on those will be priceless one day."
