For those of you who might be new to the planner community, the hashtag #beforethepen refers to a planner layout all set up and ready to be penned in with tasks and ToDo's for the upcoming week. For those planner babes that plan in this way, it's a way to 'theme up' or 'pretty up' their pages before getting down to business. Truth be told: it's some planner babes' M.O. to NEVER pen it up. We've seen it, and we say if that's the case, embrace it! Own your planner style, whatever it may be.
For today, we're sharing how two of our Design Team members have created a #beforethepen weekly layout in their CLASSIC-sized 'Peony' Happy Planners™. First, we share the 'Fall Into Christmas' themed layout created by Nicole Patterson (IG | blog) and next, we share how Mariel Reyes (IG | blog) used only one color-coordinated sticker sheet to create a cohesive two-page spread.
'Fall into Christmas' weekly layout in the 'Peony' Happy Planner™ by Nicole Patterson
About these pages, Nicole writes:
"I chose the theme 'Fall Into Christmas' for the week of Thanksgiving. This year, we hosted Thanksgiving in our house and had lots to do the first half of the week to prepare. The second half of the week will be leading right into the Christmas holiday and will be a little lighter on tasks since I'll be with family. I wanted my layout for the week to reflect that.
I placed the wording 'Fall Into Christmas' using gold alpha stickers so the rest of my layout would make sense. I used patterned block stickers from various sticker value packs and SOFT SPOKEN™ stickers to lead me right into Christmas the second half of the week. It's so pretty, but also super functional!"
Color-Coordinated weekly layout in the 'Peony' Happy Planner™ by Mariel Reyes
About these pages, Mariel writes:
"I hear a lot of people tell me that they can't figure out how to decorate their planner. They don't know how to pick out stickers or don't have the time to figure it all out. With this layout, I wanted to show that with one sticker sheet from the 'Color Coordinated' sticker value pack and washi, you can decorate your whole week and still have left over stickers for things that might come up.
I have been using this method to plan in my functional Happy Planner™ and it makes planning a breeze! I choose a page form the sticker value pack that I will use for the week. I pull that page out of the pack to focus on ONLY THOSE STICKERS to decorate with. There are checklist boxes, reminders, ToDo's, and flags for things to highlight as important. My favorites are the little circles with hearts, asterisks, etc. to highlight items in your Happy Planner™. After decorating, I usually have gave some left over and I leave the sheet in my planner to add to my spread later."
