We're sure all you Happy Planners™ out there have different systems and ways to setting up your week. To provide you with some inspiration, tips, or the motivation to plan the next week, mambi Design Team member Megan McKenna thought it would be a fun to talk about the system that shes uses. With a little bit of time to herself on Sundays, Megan sits at her desk, drinks her coffee, and focuses on the upcoming week.
About her process, Megan writes:
"The very first thing I do when it comes to decorating or 'setting up' my week is pick out what color scheme I want. I go for my box of washi tape first and start there. Since I have the 'Best Days' Happy Planner™ BOX KIT, the pages are undated. I stick a piece of washi up at the top where the dates usually are printed. I will either place the date stickers on top of the washi or right below it. There, my dates are set."
"I don't use the three boxes to plan my morning, afternoon, and evening events. I use them in a different way. After my dates are set, I start filling in the first boxes. These are for important info that I want to see first thing when I look at what my day. This could be birthdays, national 'whatever' days, appointments, or special events. I love using the 'Colorful Dots' sticker pack for these! The middle boxes are for my to-do lists. I usually leave these blank until the day before. The last box is for things that are going on that day but aren't necessarily the first thing I have to think about that day.
I use my monthly spread to fill in everything that's going on that month that I need to know so later on I can fill in my weekly spreads. Once I have all my events and dates written in, it's time for the fun quotes and stickers! I absolutely love how me & my BIG ideas has such uplifting and positive quotes on all of their products. It makes looking at your planner so much more...happy!"
"The last thing I will do each week is insert any half sheet checklists, shopping lists, or in this weeks case: the April Instagram challenge insert! I used a snap-in tab to keep the list handy in my week spread."
