With Halloween a mere three days away, let's get inspired by new mambi Design Team member Latrice Murphy's double dose of Halloween cards! Enter haunted evil laugh: Bwaa haa haa haa!
About the first 'BOO' card, Latrice writes:
"I started out with a deep purple base topped with white cardstock. The white cardstock has been inked with black around the edges. I then chose some patterned paper from the Black & White paper pad which was perfect for Halloween. I cut this piece in half and left a gap in the center for the gold washi tape. Next I added the Halloween sticker on with 3D adhesive. For the moon, I punched a circle out and inked the edges with gold to tie it together a little bit more. I added a little bit of 3D adhesive on the backs of the gold latter and placed them near the moon. Lastly, I added the three white banners below the spooky scene sticker to create more balance."
About this second 'Toil & Trouble' card, Latrice writes:
"This card is a funny one and came together super fast. Those strips were actually left over pieces from another layout I’m creating for mambi. The paper is from the same Black & White mambiSHEETS pad. The look reminds me of old plank walls in a spooky haunted house. I layered them every which way, trimmed off any hanging over the edges and then got out my white pen. The faux stitching adds just enough white to the edges of the paper to make it pop a bit more. Next I found the cute little spider and made him hang from the top and them I chose a larger mambi sticker for the sentiment. I backed it with white cardstock and mounted it onto the card with 3D adhesive. To pull in a bit of gold I chose some small gold arrows to bring attention to the sentiment."
I love hearing how projects come together, and what the designer was inspired by or thinking as she was creating. Super fun!
