"I wanted to capture the simplicity of the ocean and transcend it into the art journal page. I always find peace and inspiration just by sitting still at the beach, as it remind me to stop being so busy all the time and just live in the moment."
Some of Olya's steps for the 'ocean' page include:
- Paint the page in any acrylic paint of your choice. Let it dry.
- Glue a patterned paper on top of the painted page.
- Add some doodles or scribbles if you want.
- Adhere your photo.
- Decorate with stickers and clear transparencies around/on top of the photo.
- Add some journaling.

"Hi, I'm Olya. I'm 28 years old and I in Vancouver, Canada with my husband of 5 years, Karl, and our fur-child: a bunny name Daisy.
By day, I'm a watercolor artist, going around my city and sketching its beautiful nature and architecture on location. By night, I am a scrapbooker, obsessed with pretty stationary and all things paper.
My first scrapbook was made almost 10 years ago, where I collected high school memorabilia photos and notes from my friend as an attempt to freeze the ever so fleeting moments and memories. I haven't stopped playing with paper since.
I am beyond THRILLED for this upcoming year with me & my BIG ideas, and cannot wait to share more projects with you all!"
