What's black & white, and FAB all over?
New mambi Design Team member Heather Adams' debut scrapbook page, that's what!
"I am a sucker for patterned paper. So, of course, I used LOTS of different papers on my first layout. Using patterns in strips helps tone down the 'busy' look of all those patterns together while still using lots of designs in one layout.
I love adding bits of art texture to my projects, too. I used gesso to paint some random strokes along the edges of a few papers. Then once the gesso dried, I added some watercolor to give some pops of color to the page."
Heather even created a pocket behind the photo where she can slip in the journalling card (click above photos to enlarge). That way, the handwritten journaling doesn't get lost in the beautiful clutter of the page. It has its own special space, and calls for all the attention once pulled out of the pocket. Great idea!
Hey there! I'm Heather and I am a 20-year-old college student from Alabama. I'm currently attending college and majoring in graphic design. College, for me, is FUN! I get to take all these different art classes and stretch my creative muscles.
I have been scrapbooking for about 5 years, and I love making just about anything with paper. Cards, layouts, mini albums, art journaling pages, you name it. If I'm not at college, you'll find me creating (of course), or shopping with my little sister. My sister and I are really close, so you'll probably see her in a lot of my layouts.
