I'm loving our new paper pads that are in Hobby Lobby. I decided to make jewelry frames using some of our papers. It was pretty simple. I did it two different ways and found out I liked one way better than the other. Supplies: Glue gun, thumb tacks, sheet of chicken wire from Home Depot or Lowes, wire cutters, hammer, empty frames from Michaels or Hobby Lobby and of course, our me & my BIG ideas paper pad!
The first version I did I cut the mesh wire bigger than the opening of the back of the frame. I then took thumb tacks and slowly hammered them into the back of the frame to hold the mesh wire in place. See picture below. Be careful as you can see the thumb tacks bend easily if you go too fast.
I added thumb tacks all the way around, see below.
The second version I did came out better. I cut the mesh wire just smaller than the inside of the frame and then hot glue gunned it into the frame. After that I added the scrapbook paper to the actual back of the frame and was done. It left more room in-between the paper and the mesh wire so you're not poking the paper when the earrings go through. I like this version better.
