I want to share my personal album of POCKET PAGES™... and what I learned in the process of creating this!
I was feeling overwhelmed when I first started this project ... I wanted to start at the beginning of the year & it was already July, so I had a lot of catching up to do! I was feeling uninspired, rushed, and like it was a bigger project then I wanted to take on. So I decided that I was going to choose my favorite photos from each month & do one layout per month. It didn't take long for me to realize that I wanted to document way more from each month...I couldn't narrow it down. That was fine, I just ended up with many more pages & photos then I planned. Not such a bad thing!
After a sluggish start I got on a roll...cropping, printing & trimming my photos was the most time consuming part. Once I had my photos the process flew by! One of favorite things about this style of capturing our memories is that I can use all my photos. I use my iPhone almost exclusively as my day to day camera & some of my photos are great quality & others, not so much! I felt like I could use a not so perfect photo, when I wouldn't feel like I would want to do that on a traditional 12x12 layout.
Here are my layouts from my new album :)
I really liked numbering my photos with stickers and then using a large journal card to write about each one. It is a no pressure way to caption photos! I also have a favorite pattern from our POCKET PAGES™, a bright stripe on craft background. I used it throughout my book & I love the consistency it adds (plus I like looking at it!)
The clear stickers are my favorite product we have! A shortcut to a 'photshopped' look! You can see more about them here.
The album that I have created
is now something I totally LOVE! It is so special to have all these
memories & journaling in one place! Chase already likes to look
through the pages and remember some of the things he has done. This is
definitely something I want to stay current with. I feel like it is
such a gift to my family that we will enjoy forever!
