Happy Earth Day to you. I thought I'd do a craft that incorporated re-using things I already had around my house to make a crafty gift for a friend. Items used: Two empty bottles, glue, yarn, flowers, cardstock and mambi Chalkboard Stickers.
I took the bottles and began adding the yarn. I left the labels on the bottles since I'm covering them up, but you can remove them if you want. I used a small portion of glue, added more yarn.
Once I added glue, I spun the bottle while wrapping the yarn. I discovered that spinning the bottle made it easier than rotating it in my hand. I glued small portions at a time so that the glue didn't harden before I got to it. Every couple lines I would push the string down a bit to keep the yarn tight and show less of the bottle.
I was making this for one of my friends, so I decided to use our Friendship Chalkboard Stickers to decorate.
I matted the stickers on white cardstock and cut them out. I put a bit of adhesive on the back of the cardstock and stuck them onto the strings that I tied around the bottles.
This craft is a great way to make a beautiful gift out of things you would normally throw away. Enjoy and remember to recycle in any way you can!
